Today was the first meeting of the 2012 class of the docent program at my local art museum. It’s called the 2012 class even though that’s when we’re starting, not finishing. Everyone seems very sweet and enthusiastic, and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better. I spoke with a classical vocalist, a mom who home-schools her kids, and several ladies who recently retired. It’s exciting, like the first day at a school where you know you’re really going to get along with people and have fun. I haven’t learned any secrets yet about the museum, or met any ghosts who live there (yet).
